As we were discussing the cultural differences between the East and West with-in the past 500 years he starts talking about the Clovis "civilization."
For one the Clovis people lived in North America and for two they died out no later than 10,000 BPE (before present era). Oh yeah, they weren't a civilization. Why? Because civilization means city dwellers, the Clovis people were hunter gatherers who's primary tools were the Clovis arrow heads. They also lived in either caves or simple temporary man-made shelters.

This just "clicked" with me. Isn't it interesting how a lot of the people who claim that they are being censored or singled out in the forums are the same people with the most forum posts? If you have more posts than 90% of everyone else then you are not being censored.
I've got a littler over 500 posts and I know of some folks who think I'm getting special treatment in the forum, how's that possible when you have more the twice the number of posts I have?
If your threads are being shut down maybe it's because you always bring up the exact same topic or because you try to twist other peoples words and ideas to fit your own person warped views. Ever stop to think that perhaps you're the one violating TOS or just not adding anything new to the overall discussion?

I can understand changing your screen name once, even twice but to always do it? It really should be against VR protocol to change your user name more than once every 6 months.
I never knew anything about this person till she down rated me for no reason. Now it seems as though she just can't stop and is doing it to my friends as well.
Other than being hit by a really, really, really large truck (to make sure it hits all of her) she should have her IP banned. True it's just a personal thing, I don't know that she's actually violated TOS but it's getting rather obnoxious.
You know I've never heard one good thing about her, from anyone, ever. There may be some folks who like her but I can't see why.
If you recall not to long ago I made an entry about how some peoples avatars/names just automatically made you not like them, sent an ill wind up your spine and made you feel like you had been anally violated....well she's one of them.
I'm sure (if she ever reads) entries like mine and other's just makes her all giddy, after-all it's her only reason for existence. Glad I could be of service :)

I've always wondered how much VR is worth, of course each year it gets more and more.
So last night I did some figures, low end and high end which came to a fairly accurate estimate. I figured it up on the projected revenue VR gets each year from premium memberships and avg. advertising. I didn't put in income from other products in the store because I don't figure them to be very high on average.
I'm not going to put the numbers up only because I think that would be stepping over some line and would just be rude. However, I will say that VR brings in a solid 5 digits and would be worth 6. Now I didn't estimate the cost of running the site but I'd imagine the pure profit margin (when you factor in how much work is put into it) is lower than average..which makes Cancer not only a smart computer guy but a very nice businessman. Nice as in not a greedy bastard.
Figures, opinion words etc are all based on my own assumptions.
Should any Admins think this is inappropriate please tell me n I'll remove it. I'm just really interested (to an ocd level) when it comes to numbers, possible numbers blah blah.
Now then, my left shoulder is hurting beyond uber bad (like seriously I think I've sliced into a nerve) so I'm going to get off here for a while.
Oh and it seems as though Cancer has fixed the ad problems on the Sci-Fi Section and it's working flawlessly, at least for me :)

In fact I think it has actually gotten worse. I can't be in Sci-Fi for more than a few minutes without having some glitch happen. It seems to still be an issue with the ads and I have gotten messages/comments from other people telling me that they have had similar things happen to them.
Today I logged into Sci-Fi, saw I had a message but decided to go to the groups first. Got to the home page of Star of the North and was redirected to a Honda car search site (you know the ones where every link on the site is to another search generator) and couldn't use the 'back page button" I had to log out.
Logged out of Sci-Fi, logged into VR and saw that the message was from you saying the problem had been fixed. I think an ad company (strongly believe its the LM Network, at least thats the little trademark company name thingy in the ad corner) has embedded itself into Sci-Fi in such a way so whenever one of their rotations comes around they grab ya and start mucking up your computer. Later today I was also on my way to Star of the North when my bowser began to travel to multiple sites at once in rapid succession, had to have been at least 2 dozen and thats no exaggeration.
I know you are a very busy man and for the most part the Dark Network sites are some of the best online places a person go to. Mainly because of the lack of pop-up/embedded pop-up ads, random or sexual/dating ads etc but this issue is keeping me from being able to use Sci-Fi or even want to use it. The same for several other people as well. If there is anything I can do to help you mitigate this problem please let me know.

I never went passed the 7th grade in "normal" school, I'm dyslexic, I had to have a voice coach because of my inherent accent and I still have trouble with writing. Guess what, it may not be perfect but these words that flow by the typings of my fingers have done great things for me. Now, you go forth and use patience, care, dignity. This may "just be the internet" but I see at least one news story a day where someone either lost a job or was kept from getting one biased solely the idiotic behaviour of that person.

Am I the only one having major problems with the ads on the Sci-Fi Section!? Almost every day I'll get redirected to some advertising site, have my browser closed out, logged on to 10-20 sites in just a few seconds, my computer will freeze and have to be re-started....multiple times each day.
I've checked my computer to see what was wrong but there is NO problem on my end. I understand advertisers are very important to the Dark Network but so are premium members. I haven't had anywhere near the types of issues on VR just Sci-Fi.
I talked to Cancer about it the other day and he said he'd look into it and it probably had something to do with a new rotation he was working on. Forum: The problem knowing who is under age and who is of age.
~~~Usually I'm the crotchety old guy yelling "hey kids get of my lawn" or in this case my profile however, I think the issue of age is really a moot point when it comes to the internet.
For one if a person wishes to engage in R-rated conversation they would do well to at least ask if the other person is over 18. If, by looking at a simple pic, you feel the urge to start horning it out then you probably lack the over all ethics to really worry about their age anyway.
Yes 15 year olds who put up slutty pictures deserve to get "creeps" dry humping their legs --online-- but, at the same time, an adult should have the ability to keep his (or her) pants on. Heck whatever happened to A/S/L before the naughty conversation?
Really, it boils down to morality and the total lack of it online.
I don't mind people having dirty convos, flirting, cybering or whatever but at least talk to the person for more than 2 minutes and learn something like age or even if they're interested.
Even I have engaged in "colourful" conversations with people but I have the wherewithal to say "hey are you 18?" AND it was on a site where sexuality was a given, heck I've been a feature member of gay.com for a month so far now lol.
Anyway the point I'm trying to make is this is not a site geared towards sexual conversation. If you are under age and start talking about sex (or putting up mature photos) then you have no right to get upset when you get hit on. If you are of adult age then you should be smart enough to ask.
I feel like I've actually had to repeat myself in this post to get it across. I mean seriously is the age issue really become such a problem folks can't handle themselves? I'm actually feeling nauseas. If your avatar is more than your face then you are not innocent, if a person dives into an adult conversation based solely on your face then they need to get slapped and I'm sorry.
No one should be forced to give their age publicly in an internet situation. If you think they should then you're probably the one at fault for being totally immature and nasty/gross.

As much as I enjoy VR I don't think a lot of the people I worked for would care to much for me being on here. Heck even my own family has greater issues that I would be on a "vampire site" then for the fact I am gay. Being a public hermit makes for better disguise than either of the extremes.
Like I've said before people with absolute faith need no poof, people with no faith (or in this case no trust) no proof will do.

No, I'm not being some arrogant prick but seriously if your IQ is less than 120, don't post it on your profile or in your journal. It doesn't mean your stupid or slow, unless of course your bragging then you are dumb. There is nothing wrong with being an average person, many of my friends are, but being over joyed for a 120(-) IQ is the same as me bragging about my English. Ok the ads on VR and Sci-Fi are really starting to annoy me. The biggest issue with some of the VR ads are the ones that 'pop-up' like for the movie 'Hancock.' What ever happened to the no pop-up rule?
The ads on Sci-Fi are actually starting to piss me off. At least once a day, while on Sci-Fi, my IE window will get closed out or my computer will freeze or I'll get redirected to some god awful site that has nothing to do with anything.
I enjoy the Sci-Fi section a bit to much but now it's to the point where I won't even go there. Why use a site thats going to f*k your computer up? I know Cancer is doing some special rotational thingy and using Sci-Fi as testing grounds but seriously...!
Enough is enough with these damnedable ads. With all the talk about making the playing field level both for status and for the advertisers what good is it going to do if people can't use the site? No I'm not questioning Cancer or how he does his job. I am questioning the *seemingly* problematic situation.
I wonder how many other people are having the same issues?

The choice to leave Lux was my own. It was never intended for me to be there permanently at first but it did evolve into that. I am very thankful that I was given the opportunity to be apart of Lux and I got to meet some great new people.
I was able to learn more about how different societies work from the inside and I hope I was at least of some value to them.
Things may not have worked out exactly to plan however, that is the nature of life. The members of Lux are wonderful people.
At this point in time in my real life and my life here on VR the best course of action was to join the Festival of Decay. I feel that I will be able to contribute in more diverse ways, be able to learn in other ways and have a more tailored environment to my personality and disposition.
There are a few of you (you know who you are) that may be dealing with a lot of VR stress in general and might think that I am upset, harbor ill feelings, etc but that is not the case.
I've been in A LOT of Covens and the only one I regret being in was the first, over 2 years ago. I try very hard to not let simple things like an online community get in the way of friendships regardless of what form they may come in.
And now that I'm seeming to ramble I'll spare your eyes and end this lol.

I remember when there were only like 15 Covens or so and now there's over 50 (with another 30 disbanded lol).
I've probably worked on at least 10 of them in the last year in some form or another. Not to mention around 30 profiles. I enjoy it greatly :)
